Once again this year, the LVR Open-Air Museum Kommern is organising the Day of the Apple. Once again, a large exhibition of apple varieties will be on display in the Pingsdorf dance hall. Experts will be on hand to carry out fruit variety analyses. Please bring along your apples and a photo of the tree or leaves. Information stands and lots of hands-on activities for children and adults round off the programme.

Several stands offer a variety of apples and apple products, such as rare regional fruit varieties, fruit trees, cider and "Viez" as well as apple pancakes. The museum restaurants have also added apple dishes to their range on this day. Here, for example, pork goulash with quinces and bread dumplings and rice pudding with apple sauce await.

There is plenty for children to discover in the open-air museum's large orchard. Adults can have the orchard explained to them by expert staff.
