Rundwanderung im Veytal von der Aquäduktbrücke zum Sammelbecken
May 17, 2025
Mechernich-Vussem
From the reconstructed aqueduct bridge in Vussem, the hike leads along the Roman Canal Trail to the canal master's office near Breitenbenden. The route continues through the village via Vussem to the Roman reservoir at Eiserfey and back to the parking lot at the aqueduct. Along the way, hikers can expect to see some particularly interesting outcrops of the third longest long-distance water pipeline in the Roman Empire. There will be explanations at the individual outcrops and questions will be answered. In addition to the course of the Eifel water pipeline and the fascinating architecture of the largest technical construction north of the Alps, hikers will learn a lot about the cultural landscape and be rewarded with magnificent views of the Veytal valley.
