Naturelebnistour durchs Nonnenbachtal zur Süntelbuche
Jun 21, 2025
Balnkenheim
This 7-kilometre circular hike takes us from the Seidenbachtal parking lot down into the Nonnenbachtal valley, where the black stork lives. We hike along the beautiful Nonnenbach stream through meadows and then through a magnificent Kerbtal valley up to the Russenkreuz, where we will stop for a rest (please bring a small snack as well as enough to drink).
The final highlight of this varied loop is a visit to the impressive Süntel beech tree on the limestone grassland typical of the Eifel.
Despite the manageable length, this hike is classified as moderately difficult due to the altitude difference (approx. 150 meters) and we ask you to bring hiking boots and appropriate clothing (sun protection!) as well as some hiking fitness.
We will be accompanied by Marion Zöller from NABU Euskirchen, who will tell us a lot about the black storks in the Eifel and other natural history features of the area.
