The bunker of the Landeszentralbank NRW was planned in great secrecy during the Cold War and built as part of the "Mittelpunktschule" construction project in Satzvey between 1966 and 1969 with a lot of concrete, steel, technology and millions of euros. The nuclear protection bunker was intended to house the head of the Düsseldorf state central bank in the "V-Fall", the defense case, and ensure its "functionality". During the tour, you will gain an insight into the "bunker bankers' bag of tricks": you will learn how the facility was kept secret in the files and from the public, how it was equipped and what purposes it served; a "secret currency" becomes the subject of the tour.
