The only Trappist abbey (silent nuns) in Germany.

Monastery herbal potion production, hand weaving and parament workshop. A visit to the monastery or the workshops is not possible because of our retreat.

Parament sales: Mon.-Sat. 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visitors can celebrate the Holy Mass and the Hour Giver in the chapel.

Daily High mass with Gregorian chant: Mon.-Fri. approx. 7:30 a.m., Sat. 7:00 a.m. (Laudes integrated), Sun. 10:00 a.m.

Kronenburg

The castle ruin and fortified settlement of Kronenburg Kronenburg Castle was one of the characteristic medieval hill-castles of the Eifel built on the spur of a ridge in the Upper Kyll Valley. The self-contained impression of the castle ruin, outer bailey and fortified settlement and their adaptation to the topography make the special charm of this site. Kronenburg was first mentioned in a charter of the Abbey Stablo Malmedy in 1277. Today the locality is a touristic attraction in the Upper Kyll Valley.

Urfttalsperre

The Urft Dam is the oldest valley dam in the Eifel and is located in the middle of the Eifel National Park. At the time, the dam was planned as the largest structure in Europe. Construction of the 266 m long wall made of quarry stones began in 1899 - in May 1905 the dam was filled with water for the first time. In addition to flood protection and energy generation, the aim of the hydraulic engineering measure was to supply the region with drinking water. LVR-Freilichtmuseum Kommern

History comes alive at the LVR open-air museum in Kommern: Chickens run around between the houses and peck at the ground, cattle graze peacefully in the pasture and fresh bread smells waft from the bakery. Visitors can wander through five different assemblies and their buildings. The journey through time in the Rhineland begins at the end of the 15th century and ends with the 20th century.
