The only Trappist abbey (silent nuns) in Germany.

Monastery herbal potion production, hand weaving and parament workshop. A visit to the monastery or the workshops is not possible because of our retreat.

Parament sales: Mon.-Sat. 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visitors can celebrate the Holy Mass and the Hour Giver in the chapel.

Daily High mass with Gregorian chant: Mon.-Fri. approx. 7:30 a.m., Sat. 7:00 a.m. (Laudes integrated), Sun. 10:00 a.m.

Erftquelle

The "Erft" rises in the small village of Holzmülheim, directly below the Himberg. It flows from here in the direction of Bad Münstereifel until it flows into the Rhine after about 100 km near Neuss. The spring was framed with natural stones by the village community.There is also a small statue of St. John Nepomuk, who is venerated as a bridge saint and is supposed to protect against water hazards. In the immediate vicinity is a playground, where there are also barbecue facilities and a lawn for sunbathing. At events at the spring, there is the possibility of being baptised in the Erft and receiving the title of "Erft cadet".

No sooner have people left the horrors of the two world wars behind them than the next war is already looming - the Cold War. Vogelsang IP

In September 2016, the new visitor’s and exhibition centre, the Forum Vogelsang IP, was opened. The two main exhibitions are the documentation of the National Socialist period, “Destiny: Master Race. National Socialist Ordensburgen - Both Fascination and Crime” and the adventure exhibition “Wilderness Dreams” organised by the Eifel National Park Centre.

It is a journey back in time to the world of the cloth industry. In 1961, factory owner Kurt Müller closed the doors of his cloth factory in the Eifel, hoping to reopen it soon. This did not come true, but today visitors can take a unique tour of a factory where robust woollen fabrics and loden cloth were produced for many years. They are immersed in the world of dyeing and weaving and experience how some of the machines are brought back to life during a guided tour and how people used to work here.

Ahekapelle

The Chapel of St. Servatius, popularly known as the Ahekapelle, is dedicated to St. Servatius, Bishop of Maastricht in the 4th century. It has a long tradition as a pilgrimage chapel and is located in the Genfbach valley near Nettersheim-Engelgau.

SternenBlick: Nettersheim "Zeitreise"

The Ten Stargazes are places where you can observe the impressive night sky. They are easy to reach and perfectly equipped for an astronomical voyage of discovery on your own. Exciting information and suitable installations help to deepen the fascination of stargazing. Each Stargaze has been given its own theme. There, a variety of aspects of astronomy and nocturnal nature as well as local peculiarities are shown.
