The only Trappist abbey (silent nuns) in Germany.

Monastery herbal potion production, hand weaving and parament workshop. A visit to the monastery or the workshops is not possible because of our retreat.

Parament sales: Mon.-Sat. 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Visitors can celebrate the Holy Mass and the Hour Giver in the chapel.

Daily High mass with Gregorian chant: Mon.-Fri. approx. 7:30 a.m., Sat. 7:00 a.m. (Laudes integrated), Sun. 10:00 a.m.

LVR-Freilichtmuseum Kommern

History comes alive at the LVR open-air museum in Kommern: Chickens run around between the houses and peck at the ground, cattle graze peacefully in the pasture and fresh bread smells waft from the bakery. Visitors can wander through five different assemblies and their buildings. The journey through time in the Rhineland begins at the end of the 15th century and ends with the 20th century. Exhibitions and various festivals and markets, such as the Anno Dazumal fair, round off the museum experience.

Ausstellung "Wetter, Klima, Mensch"

In the Donnerwetter.de weather park on the almost 700 meter high White Stone in the Eifel, there are insights into the weather, climate and people. In the exhibition hall you can find out how various weather phenomena such as thunderstorms or hurricanes arise.

Naturzentrum Eifel

The Eifel Nature Centre in Nettersheim is a supraregional adventure centre for environmental education with exhibitions on nature and history, making it an exciting destination for the whole family! Take part in one of the numerous excursions or attend one of the seminars. From family adventure and activity programmes for school classes to children's birthdays - the offers are always accompanied by experts. The award-winning Dandelion Experience Path and the Archaeological Landscape Park also invite you to go hiking.

Radioteleskop Effelsberg

With a diameter of 100 metres, the Radio Telescope Effelsberg is one of the largest fully mobile radio telescopes on earth. Since its commissioning in 1972, the company has continuously worked on improving its technology (e. g. B. a new surface of the antenna dish, better receivers for high-quality data, extremely lownoise electronics) so that even today it is still considered one of the most modern telescopes in the world.

Handwebmuseum Rupperath

The art of hand weaving made Rupperath famous far beyond the town's borders. Years ago, a handloom community was founded that has earned an excellent reputation. In the museum rooms, the spinning wheel still whirs and the loom rattles. Hand-woven items ranging from the smallest gift to church chasubles are made here according to the old art.
