The observatory of the "Sterne ohne Grenzen" astronomy workshop, located at the International Platz Vogelsang (IP) in the heart of the Eifel National Park—a designated "Star Park"—regularly offers public stargazing events.

High-performance telescopes and wide-field binoculars are available; they are situated in the heart of nature and offer a view of the entire starry sky.

The observatory grounds are not a public space; the observatory is secured by an alarm system and monitored by a security service.

The observatory is a partner organization of the “Nordeifel—Sustainable Travel Destination” initiative.

Kronenburg

The castle ruin and fortified settlement of Kronenburg Kronenburg Castle was one of the characteristic medieval hill-castles of the Eifel built on the spur of a ridge in the Upper Kyll Valley. The self-contained impression of the castle ruin, outer bailey and fortified settlement and their adaptation to the topography make the special charm of this site. Kronenburg was first mentioned in a charter of the Abbey Stablo Malmedy in 1277. Today the locality is a touristic attraction in the Upper Kyll Valley.

Burg Langendorf

Langendorf Castle was first mentioned in 1240. The oldest part of the main building dates back to the 15th century and was expanded around 1498 to include the courtrooms. The castle has been in family ownership since 1880 and was passed on to the then-20-year-old heir Manfred Vetter in 1957 - with the aim of restoring and revitalizing the heavily damaged castle. “Concert in the Barn” - from 1994 to 2010, more than 120 concerts featuring young musicians took place in the barn of the castle. The international historical fire helmet collection with approximately 300 helmets was incorporated into the foundation in 2010. The open-air stage, used only ten times, was donated to the Euskirchen district at the end of 2010 for events by schools, clubs, and others. The castle (cellar ground floor and outside) is available for group tours by arrangement.

Experience "The Eifel from below" all year round, every day! The family-friendly guided tours are especially designed for children, for whom a visit to the "underground world" is a very special experience! Guided tours of the former lead ore mine are offered three times a day for individual visitors.
